Student Accident Insurance - Pacific Educators
The Mountain Empire Unified School District does not provide medical, accident or dental insurance for pupils injured while under school jurisdiction, or while participating in school district activities.
For these reasons, the MEUSD has arranged a student accident insurance program, for your review and consideration, with an outside provider called Pacific Educators. This insurance is optional and is in accordance with Education Code Sections 49472 and 32221.
SCHOOL ATHLETIC PROGRAMS: Under state law, school districts are required to ensure that all members of school athletic teams have accidental injury insurance that covers medical and hospital expenses. This insurance requirement can be met through a private plan carried by the family, the district's offer of an outside provider, or the eligibility of the student to enroll in a no-cost or low-cost local, state, or federally sponsored health insurance program.
If you have questions, please contact the school office or athletic coach.
