Indian Education Alliance Committee

Mountain Empire Unified School District will have at least four meetings each year with the Title VI Indian Education Alliance Committee. Together, they'll create policies, procedures, and a needs assessment, making recommendations to the Board of Trustees. These discussions will happen in open meetings, welcoming tribal officials to ensure everyone has equal access to the school district's programs and activities. The goal is to inform and address comments and concerns about Native American children's participation in the district's educational programs.

The yearly schedule includes:
1. Four annual MEUSD Title VI Indian Education Alliance Committee meetings
2. The Board of Trustees' public hearing on Title VI Indian policies and procedures, usually in January.
3. Additional meetings as arranged or requested by the Title VII VI Indian Education Alliance Committee, tribal officials, or parents of Native American children.
