Green Friday promotes fitness and fun in County parks. Events are active and educational - aligning with our mission to balance recreation with efforts to protect and preserve land and local environment. Activities are open to residents and visitors of all ages, interest and abilities, and there is no cost to attend.

California WIC - Shop for Fruits and Veggies with Your Cash Value Benefits 

WIC wants families to know that they can use extra benefits at WIC-approved grocery stores and with farmers that accept the WIC Card. Families can use Cash Value Benefits to buy fresh, dried, canned, and frozen fruits and vegetables in any brand, type, or combination. WIC participants can also purchase organic fruits and vegetables.

The monthly dollar amounts of the benefit is:
$25 for children ages 1 to 5
$44 for pregnant and postpartum individuals
$49 for breastfeeding individuals.

California Fruit and Veggie EBT Pilot 
 
The UCSD Center for Community Health has been selected to pilot the California Fruit and Veggie EBT Pilot Project. This collaboration involves the Center for Community Health, Mother's Nutritional Center, and the California Department of Social Services. The project's primary aim is to incentivize CalFresh participants to purchase fresh fruits and vegetables using their Calfresh benefits at Mother's Nutritional Center stores throughout Southern California.

With the FCC's Affordable Connectivity Program, you can save on your bill and may be able to get high-speed internet for free.
